Strada della Forra is the Lake Garda gorge road that looks impossible until you’re on it — SP38 cut into the Brasa canyon walls above Campione, climbing toward Tremosine. From the lakeside junction the asphalt dives into rock. Tunnels, blind corners, and a road width that leaves little room for oncoming traffic turn every metre into a concentration exercise. First- and second-gear work dominates; you’re managing space and sightlines more than speed. On a motorcycle the walls amplify every sound; in a car you feel the chassis squeezed between cliff and drop. Higher up the gorge opens onto the Tremosine plateau — sudden lake views between the rock cuts, then village roads that finally let you breathe. It’s short, intense, and unforgettable: less a cruise than a Bond-movie tunnel sequence you actually get to drive.
